Romance is a form of mutual pleasure. Don't forget to factor your own pleasure (i.e. fun) into your romantic involvements. If you can't do this, you are likely with the wrong person.

Generally speaking, men are into significance, and women are into security. Make her feel secure
(i.e. beautiful, desirable, loved, protected, supported, cherished). Likewise, evaluate your sense of significance with her in your life. If you are dissatisfied, do not consider marriage. This lack of satisfaction will undermine your relationship somewhere down the road. The romance will die with it.

Surprise him with a romantic gift--send him flowers with a supportive or comforting message, buy him a copy of one of his favorite movies with a box of his favorite comfort food, offer to walk his dog two days of the coming week, send him a
romantic e-card.

Men are impressed by a woman who is a good conversationalist. Make an effort to stay up on the national and international news and at least some of the major political issues. Develope a well-thought-out opinion of basic issues. Inform yourself to a reasonable extent regarding his type of work.

A lot of men like long hair. It's sexy, and it makes them feel sexy. This applies to any age, but especially if you are in your 40's or 50's, think twice before you part with your tresses. Men in this age group tend to equate short hair with frumpiness . Long hair has a romantic power all its own!

It takes imagination to come up with an exciting date. Support your man by having a few ideas ready yourself. You might even write out a list of things you would like to do and offer it to him, or simply surprise him. Make it memorable!
